What is WiFi Router?
A wireless router, also known as a Wi-Fi router, is the small electronic device supplied by your internet service provider that allows you to connect to the internet. TP Link WiFi Router connects to your home broadband line and sends data from the internet cable to your internet-connected devices.
Wireless routers are the industry-standard way to connect to the internet in your home as wired routers have long been outdated, and are only really used by those who want to connect to the internet via an Ethernet cable.
Most wireless routers also come with at least four Ethernet ports to allow you to connect PCs, TVs and other in-home gadgets to the internet.
WiFi Router Types:
What is a desktop Wi-Fi router?
The most common way for users to connect to the Internet wirelessly is with a desktop wireless (Wi-Fi) router. Usually these routers look like small boxes with several short antennas to help broadcast signal throughout a home or an office. The farther a user is from the Wi-Fi router, the weaker the signal is. So there are usually multiple wireless routers placed throughout the workspace, in an array allowing for extended Internet coverage.
What is a mobile hotspot?
Mobile hotspot is a common feature on smartphones with both tethered and untethered connections. When you make your phone a mobile hotspot, you share your wireless network connection with other devices so that they can access the Internet too.
How does TP Link WiFi router work?
Plug your phone or cable line into your router and data will be sent through the connection to the router. TP Link Wi-Fi router then takes this data and converts it into radio signals, which are then picked up by devices with Wi-Fi capability such as laptops, tablets, smartphones and games consoles.
