TP Link TL-WR902AC AC750 Wireless Travel Router

TP Link TL-WR902AC Router Review:

The small size and light weight of the TP-Link TL-WR902AC is a definite boon to frequent travelers. It’s so small that it easily suits in my pants pocket, making it diminutive enough to go with you wherever you go and however little you’re able to carry. It seems to be made of quite durable plastic, so you needn’t bother with it breaking en route. The design is fairly bland and utilitarian, with a simple row of indicator lights breaking up its monotonous grey and white surface, but then it’s not a category that inspires a lot of dramatic design.

In the Ookla speed tests I ran, the TP-Link TL-WR902AC showed similar results to a standard ISP provided router from Centurylink. I never experienced any issues with speed or reliability when using this router. I also appreciated that TP-Link TL-WR902AC router packs in dual-band capability despite its small size.

Range was just OK, but never terrible for such a diminutive device. I was able to use it throughout a medium-sized house and around the yard beyond as long as about 100 feet. That range dropped off pretty quickly when obstructions hampered the signal. Nevertheless, this router is intended for private internet browsing in a hotel, convention center, vacation house, or other remote location where portability and ease of use are more important than range and signal strength.

Outside of its usefulness as a standalone router, the TP-Link TL-WR902AC can also function in a number of other capacities. It can be set up as a range extender for your existing network, or as a transmitter to add wireless capability to a device designed only to connect to a wired network.

Final:

People typically don’t even consider packing a router in their suitcase, but the TP-Link TL-WR902AC Travel Router deserves a place in your bag. It’s fast, quick, and quick and easy to set up, and is small enough to suit in your pocket. Whether you’re traveling the globe or expanding your home Wi-Fi network, the TP-Link TL-WR902AC is a capable companion.

This is my 4th TP-LINK device. The other 3 still work great. I sometimes keep hotels rooms in two cities same time. TP-Link is must have for security at hotels. I’ve tried other brands, no so good. Suggest trying to save $5 bucks on alternate brand not worth the angst. TP-Link does what it’s supposed to do, Works flawlessly. Easy set-up.

three modes. Mode I use most often is wireless repeater. in-feed is Hotel wireless. But then TP-link output is both wireless, and wired. But TP link lets you use strong password protection. so your wireless signal is yours alone. and I useualy have TP link wired output connected to a 5 port mini-router. so I can connect all my deveices in hotel, plus have scure wireless. I also use the TP link in conjunction with private VPM software. I use NordVpn and Express VPN, depenidn. this combination of TP Link recommend. I keep units of TP link in my briefcase and backpack. I don’t use ANY public wireless, unless I do it though TP link and VPN. takes 1.5 seconds to connect to TP link — evan at Starbucks. Anybody and everybody using hotel wireless, or ANY public wireless should get at least one of these things. We all need to work to defeat hackers and spammers. this thing is VERY useful for doing secrure conenctions
