I can only tell you the difference between the AX3000 AX50 and the AX3000 AX55 is a speed rating. I will tell you that I am VERY happy with the AX55. My Norton Core router was several years old and reaches EOL in April 2022. I was having issues with it, including WiFi range in the new house we bought. The performance of the AX55 was the solution to all the issues of range within the house. For what ever reason, and I do have a theory, this router really improved throughput. The responsiveness of the browser was immediate and obvious. I added a RE505X range extender from TP-Link. The addition was simple to implement because these are OneMesh devices. OneMesh devices are easily added to provide a single, continuous network. I added it to provide coverage outdoors when needed. I simply plug the RE into an outlet when I need it, unplug it when I don’t. So far, so VERY good.
