I’m in the process of “Cord Cutting” after witnessing the satellite company’s ever escalating monthly bill for too long. I bought Firestick TV dongles for all my TV’s and opted for Playstation Vue to provide a good selection of live TV, plus my already existing Netflix and Amazon Prime and all the channel selections on the ‘sticks. I found right away that my old Netgear 5-year old $25 router just couldn’t hack the load of three streaming TV’s and an X-box. After some research I settled on this router as good value for money, especially considering the 802.11ac and simultaneous dual-band. I wasn’t disappointed. I set the firesticks to use the 5ghz/802.11ac band and everything else to use 2.6. Everything just works. No hesitation at all on streaming TV, 2 laptops, 1 desktop, an iphone, Android phone & tablet and the Xbox on my 40mbps cable broadband. I’ve been using the new router for almost a month now and had to reset the router exactly once. I found it’s not a candidate for DD-WRT firmware since it’s V2, but so far I don’t see any problem with the factory supplied firmware.
